MIAMI-DADE SCHOOLS POLICE ADDS NEW OFFICERS TO DEPARTMENT
Recently, the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department held a Swearing-In/Promotional Ceremony to induct new officers and promote additional officers to our police force. It takes a special person to be a police officer in the Miami-Dade Schools police department. In general, a police officer needs to be a person that can protect and serve, with strength and compassion, often without recognition. In addition they have to willingly and readily put themselves in harm’s way so others can go about their daily lives and live their life free of fear.
The Miami-Dade Schools Police Department is honored to have these individuals as new hires as they prepare to learn how to make a difference in our schools and communities. On this day, Superintendent Carvalho, along with Chief Operating Officer Valtena G. Brown, joined Chief Ian A. Moffett at this event and ceremony for our new police officers. As part of this event, there also was a promotional ceremony for police officers transitioning into different positions to better serve our student population.
