Miami-Dade Schools Police

Welcomes New Police Officers

A group of new Miami-Dade County Public Schools resource officers observe a moment of silence during their swearing-in ceremony at the School Board Administration Building in downtown Miami on Aug. 16.

The addition of nine new members to the force was part of an effort to ensure that every traditional middle and high school in the county has a full-time resource officer assigned.

Among the speakers at the event was Mr. Alberto Carvalho, Superintendant of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, who talked about the new school year during the swearing-in ceremony for the nine new Miami-Dade Schools police officers.
